About

The Science Storytelling Society is a student group at NC State that meets every two weeks to practice communicating about science, workshop our SciComm projects, get help from campus leaders in SciComm and make friends with other folks interested in telling stories about science. We also give out cool prizes and eat cookies!

Our members make nature documentaries and science podcasts, freelance as science writers, give amazing presentations about science, and manage public science initiatives like citizen science projects. But don’t let that intimidate you! We also have many members with just a passing interest in improving their science communication skills, and that’s great too. The goal of our group is to leverage our collective expertise to get you where you want to go in your science communication– whether that means improving your class presentation or writing a book. We are open to anyone with an interest in science communication. If you are interested in joining, please email Bradley Allf at ballf[at]ncsu.edu.

We use this blog to post updates about our meetings for those that can’t make it and to share content created by our members.
